Magdalen
Baruch

Magdalen, a student at Baruch came to know Jesus last spring. She came to Basileia and is growing in her relationship with Jesus. Returning this week from a trip to the Dominican Republic, she was invited by one of the Baruch student leaders to get involved in NSO. She didn't want to do it!

As the two young women walked up the stairs of the building where the exec leader lived, (the elevator was broken) they noticed a young man who seemed troubled. Iridia (a student leader at Baruch) sensed an opportunity to engage this young man and share Jesus. Magdalen, the reluctant evangelist, jumped into the conversation and ended up leading this young man to receive Jesus! These two young women then kicked into high gear finding appropriate help, church support, and follow up for this new believer.

Janice Lam

"Throughout high school, I felt empty and insecure about myself... I was seeking for love. What I really wanted was for someone to appreciate me. I wanted someone to love me regardless of my imperfection, my mistakes, and my background. I was seeking for that kind of love...

Jesus has really made a difference in my life... God has opened my eyes to see how so many other people are searching for the same kind of love I was looking for in all the wrong places, giving me the words and opportunity to tell them the eternal love He has provided for them."

This Fall we had a panel discussion on "Is there Purpose to Life?: A Buddhist and a Christian Perspective" we had a buddhist and christian panelist to give presentations and on stage there was also a student panel of 3 (agnostic student, neo orthodox Jewish student and agnostic/athiest student from mainland china). These students asked questions and helped the dialogue along on stage with the panelists by asking challenging questions...

...please pray that the movement of Jesus Christ is such a community on this campus that has lost hope and doesn't even realize it.
